Over the next few weeks, as we conduct checks and maintenance on our letterboxes, we will be replacing the stamps and virtual wooden plaques with new smaller dual stamps and virtual letterboxes.

These new boxes are smaller and allow us to hide them in smaller more challenging locations.
5 locations have already been changed to this new letterbox style, including The Wrekin, Moreton Corbet Castle, Wenlock Edge, Stiperstones and the Telford 50 Trail. Their clues and hiding places have also been updated.
The smaller letterbox contains a new stamp design and a smaller logbook and pencil, with a QR code that links you to the virtual downloadable stamp and logbook. However, you will now need to bring your own ink block to use for the stamp.
The reason for the change to smaller letterboxes is that it will allow us to hide them in more challenging locations, which are harder to locate. This will keep the challenge of letterboxing to its origins, but also prevent accidental finds which can lead to and have led to letterboxes going missing and needing to be replaced.
Hopefully, you will like these new letterboxes and their new hiding locations. Remember once found, please place them back in the same hiding place for others to find.
We will also be putting up new advertising posters in certain locations to spread the knowledge of this fun and exciting activity.
Happy letterbox hunting.
