Letterboxing is a popular outdoor activity. It originated in Dartmoor, England, in the mid-19th century. This activity involves finding hidden containers (letterboxers) in typically remote and scenic locations.
What is Letterboxing you ask? essentially it is a treasure hunt which uses clues and a map to find the hidden container. Included within are a logbook and a unique rubber stamp. The finder can then stamp their own log as proof of their discovery
Letterboxing has now spread to Shropshire. Its many trails, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, provide a fun and challenging adventure for people of all ages, whether an experienced letterboxer or newcomer to the activity.
